NATURAL STONE FLOORING CARE
The best way to preserve a beautiful look of marble, granite or other natural stone floor is through prevention. Protectives are used to protect stone from water, dirt and oil stains penetration. There are protectives which do not change the stone color, and also with "color enhancing" function. Liquid waxes also act as water repellents, protect marble from mechanical scratches and give either mirror or matt polish look to the floor.
Surfaces treated with protectives are easier and faster to clean and maintain because the dirt will not be able to penetrate deeply in the stone.
Clean your marble stone surface with a soft cloth or mop using pH neutral cleaning solution (detergent LEM-3). To clean very dirty floor or floor after construction works, apply Ultra-Stripper detergent. For granite surfaces you can also try detergent Bert – 27. For rusty stains, there are specific cleaning products available for removing them.
Be careful with maintaining floor from marble tiles. Marble is a very soft stone and it is much softer than granite. It is very easily etched by acids (vinegar, tomato juice, orange juice, etc). Always wipe off any spills immediately as they happen. If the stain remained- immediately apply Mangia Macchia paste to take it away.
To prevent marble (and other stone) from scratches in the entrance/hall use walk-off mats.
