BATH AND VANITY
Since polished granite is rather slippery surface, it is better to use marbe in bathrooms instead of granite.
It is important to use water-resistant polyester glue to install granite and marble in the bathroom. Otherwise, the water will dissolve the glue base. In showers the should be definately installed the right water run-off.
Bathroom stone care:
Vanity tops: - Clean your vanity tops regularly with a pH neutral detergent (Lem-3 or spray cleaner from Stone Care Kit). - Clean your mirror with the same pH neutral detergent. Even if you over-spray it, nothing bad is going to happen to your marble. Cleaning products designed for mirrors spilled on marble surface may damage it's polish over time, that's why better not to use any. TIP: White Spirit works well for safely cleaning mirrors and won't harm the marble. - If you want to add some extra shine to your polished stone countertop surface and prevent soiling, use stone polish products for time to time treatment (Listo, Spray Polish RR/1, Spray Polish from Stone Care Kit)
Showers: - Clean your shower daily. The easiest and most effective way is, after everybody has take a shower, spray the walls and floor of the stall with a diluted solution of water and pH neutral stone cleaner, then squeegee. - To remove mildew stain use a mildew stain remover (Algakill) that has been formulated to be safe on natural stone.
Toilets: If your toilet bowl sits on a marble or other natural stone floor, don't use common toilet bowl cleaners. Most of them contain acids, which accidently spilled may damage your marble. Better use powder cleanser for toilet cleaning or any other detergent designated safe for stone.
